Yellow Electrician

Terms & Conditions

1. Overview

These terms and conditions outline the relationship between our company and our clients, ensuring clear communication and preventing any misunderstandings.

2. Acceptance
By using this website or engaging our services, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

3. Emergency Call-Out Charges
Emergency call-outs and urgent attendance will be charged at the quoted hourly rate, with a minimum one-hour charge for all jobs. Additional time will be billed in half-hour increments. The cost of any materials or parts will be charged separately.

4. Response Time
We aim to have an electrician on-site within two hours of booking. You will be given an estimated arrival time at the time of booking. The client is responsible for providing accurate attendance details. Arrival times are estimates and may vary depending on availability, traffic conditions, and parking availability.

5. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made after booking but before the electrician’s arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the quoted hourly rate for the first hour. This fee will be invoiced immediately and is due for immediate payment.

6. Non-Refundable Deposits
In some cases, a non-refundable deposit (no less than 50% of the quoted first-hour rate) may be required before the electrician’s attendance.

7. Hourly Rate Calculation
The hourly rate applies to the labour of one electrician. For example, if two electricians are assigned, the charge will be for two person-hours.

8. Scope of Emergency Work
Emergency work involves making equipment safe and does not guarantee that power will be restored to circuits or devices. We cannot guarantee that faults will be identified or fixed within the first hour.

9. Client Responsibility for Equipment
Clients must disconnect or secure sensitive electronic or electrical equipment before work begins. We will not be liable for any interruptions to electricity or damage caused to equipment.

10. Discovery of Faults
If new or existing faults are discovered during the work, we will inform the client and provide corrective options, which may incur additional costs.

11. Quality of Accessories
Unless otherwise stated, accessories such as switches and sockets will be standard white plastic of mid-range quality.

12. Existing Accessories
If a new socket or switch is to be supplied from an existing accessory, we assume the existing accessory is suitable. If not, additional charges may apply.

13. Installation of New Circuits
New circuit installations assume that unlabelled or blank circuit breakers in the consumer unit are available. If no spare ways are available, additional charges will apply.

14. Access to Work Areas
Clients must ensure that areas such as lofts, basements, and storage rooms are accessible and clear of clutter. The area must be safe for our team to work in.

15. Asbestos Policy
If asbestos is suspected or found, work in the area will cease immediately. The client must have the asbestos tested and either removed or confirmed safe before work can proceed. All costs related to asbestos will be the client’s responsibility.

16. Clearance of Work Area
All furniture and personal items should be cleared before our arrival to allow for unrestricted access.

17. Responsibility for Personal Items
We are not responsible for any damage to furniture or personal items that need to be moved. Clients should remove or protect fragile or valuable items.

18. Minor Damage During Work
Minor damage to surrounding areas may occur during testing, inspections, or accessory replacements. Any necessary rectifications should be handled by others.

19. Flooring Removal
While we strive to minimize damage when lifting carpets or flooring, the client will be responsible for the costs of reinstallation or replacement.

20. Wall Chase Filling
We will not repair any unfilled chases under this agreement.

21. Waste Disposal
We will make reasonable efforts to minimize dust but will only tidy up the work area. Clients are responsible for the removal and disposal of waste.

22. Additional Work Charges
Any extra work, including fixing pre-existing faults, will require a new estimate or quotation, which may incur additional labor costs.

23. Specialized Equipment Costs
If specialized access equipment is needed, these costs will be added and must be paid in advance by the client.

24. Use of Tools and Equipment
Tools, materials, or access equipment provided by contractors are not to be used by clients or third parties.

25. Payment Schedule
Payment for larger projects may be requested in stages, as outlined in the provided estimate or quotation.

26. Payment Terms
We do not offer credit. Payments are due immediately upon receipt of the invoice, which can be issued either digitally, on paper, or as a Sum-Up remote payment request. Accepted methods include credit/debit cards, cash, or cleared bank transfers.

27. Late Payment Fees
Late payments will incur an interest charge of 8% of the invoice amount plus the Bank of England base rate, with interest calculated from the invoice date.

28. Parking Charges
Any parking or vehicle-related charges incurred during the service will be added to the final invoice.

29. Supervision Requirement
We cannot perform work in premises where minors are present without adult supervision.

30. Pet Safety
Clients must ensure that pets are safely secured away from the work area. We are not liable for their well-being.

31. Workforce Composition
Work may be carried out by one or more individuals on-site.

32. Call Monitoring
Calls may be monitored or recorded for purposes of resolving disputes, legal obligations, and quality control.

33. Zero Tolerance Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy against aggression, threats, abuse, or racism. Such behavior may result in the refusal of service.

34. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse services at any time, either initially, ongoing, or in the future, at our discretion. The client will be responsible for payment for work already performed.

35. Service Availability
Our services are subject to availability.

36. Client Feedback
